Abbey layout?
(speculative)

Note the north-east church wall and the buildings of Abbey farm (later occupied by the post-1900 graveyard).
The farm immediately east of the abbey was known as 'Gateside' -- the abbey gate leading to the Nith?

1922 dig, plotted on 1900 OS map.
Abbey farm was dismanted c1883 and rebuilt at its present location about 1 km north. The present church walls were completed between 1860 and 1922, with the south graveyard wall completed last.

Possible layout of the abbey?
Premonstratensian abbeys conformed to a standardised layout. This shows Tupholm Abbey, Lincolnshire, overlayed on visible remains of Holywood abbey.

Another possible layout.
Overlayed with Bardney Abbey (also Premonstratensian), Lincolnshire.
